Alpine regions need a sustainable approach to tackle climate change and fossil fuel use. The SEAP_Alps project enabled local authorities to draft energy and climate action plans for their communities. Results include:

  • an online action tool that helped 57 municipalities test projects for their plans (46 plans were drafted)
  • a training platform in 5 languages
  • workshops for local representatives
  • a catalogue of measures to identify areas for intervention
  • a public-private investment concept to meet energy-efficiency requirements in public buildings
  • 80 events for 2,200 people

Encouraging others to use the results

The public-private investment concept was tested in 13 municipalities triggering investment in several places. The action tool and training platform will stay online in the longer term. This, combined with the project’s communication work, will allow other local administrations to use the results.
